Vue <TransitionGroup> Component

Example

Using the built-in <TransitionGroup> component to create an <ol> tag with animated <li> tags inside.

<TransitionGroup tag="ol">
  <li v-for="x in products" :key="x">
    {{ x }}
  </li>
</TransitionGroup>
Run Example »

See more examples below.

Definition and Usage

The built-in <TransitionGroup> component is used around elements created with v-for, to give these elements individual animations when they are added or removed.

Tags created with v-for inside the <TransitionGroup> component must be uniquely defined with the key attribute.

The <TransitionGroup> component is only rendered as an HTML tag if we define it to be a specific tag by using the tag prop.

When tags are created inside the <TransitionGroup> component with v-for based on an array, these tags will be animated automatically when elements are added to, or removed from, the array.

Props

The built-in <TransitionGroup> component can be used with the same props as the built-in <Transition> component, but accepts the name and the moveClass props in addition:

Prop Description
none Default. Run Example »
tag <TransitionGroup> is rendered to be the tag specified. If the tag prop is not set, <TransitionGroup> will not be rendered as a tag. Run Example »
moveClass Creates a custom name for the move class. The default name for the move class is v-move. Run Example »
